About

Hi I’m Maddy, an independent Artist in the PNW.

My practice focuses on concepts of identity. Through discovering the hidden value of the discarded and the transformative ways we can relearn to honor ourselves.

I source my materials from household clutter, specifically items that have a forced sentimentality.

Often teacups and porcelain vessels from grandiose serving sets that once occupied many homes. The materials represent a pageantry we move away from while still holding their inherent artistry and craftsmanship.

Through collaging with these found materials I respect these items that have shaped us on a domestic level, while pushing the conversation forward through hyper feminized imagery using color and media imagery. Specifically critiquing consumerism and advertising. Hot pinks, shine, and baby blues dominate my color pallets to reharmonize the constrictive past of femininity and adapt into a modern harmony.
